(New York, NY) -- There is tight security in Times Square and rain on the way for what's expected to be a large crowd to watch the ball drop to bring in 2019.
There are barricades all over the place, street closures and a heavy police presence as throngs of locals and tourists pour into Times Square today. The NYPD will have heavy weapons teams, blocker vehicles and for the first time will be using drones as part of security. Forecasters say heavy rain is expected but umbrellas are banned.
