Hudson Valley Preps For Big Snow Storm

(Poughkeepsie, NY)  --  A mix of  light snow and freezing rain last night into this morning caused some slippery conditions on the roads.  Several local school districts issued delays due to the weather conditions.  Poughkeepsie, Highland, Marlboro and Millbrook are among the districts with 2 hour delays.

Meanwhile, many residents across the Hudson Valley are preparing for what's expected to be a big winter storm. Six inches to a foot of snow could fall in the area before the system leaves on Sunday.  Predictions are for up to 20 inches in the Catskills.

Once the flakes stop flying, bitter cold is expected to settle in with wind chills projected to be at or below zero. The National Weather Service has posted a Winter Weather Warning from 4pm Saturday to 4pm Sunday.
