(Poughkeepsie, NY) -- A Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 6pm in Dutchess and Ulster counties and the rest of the Mid-Hudson. The National Weather Service says Wind Chills are predicted from 15 to 30 below zero. In the Catskills a Wind Chill Warning is in effect were the real-feel temperatures could reach 40 below. The Weather Service says the cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
The City of Poughkeepsie has opened a Warming Center at the Public Safety Building 505 Main Street today and tomorrow from 8am to 5pm each day. Individuals who need a warm place during the day are encouraged to utilize the center. Meanwhile, the Snow Emergency has been lifted in Poughkeepsie however all City-owned parking lots in Poughkeepise will be open for free public parking through today.
