(Wayne, NJ) -- Toys R Us may not be a thing of the past after all.
Newly founded Tru Kids Incorporated, including some Toys R Us former executives, has bought Toys R Us, Babies R Us and company mascot Geoffrey. In a statement, Tru Kids Inc. said the brands have generated more than three-billion-dollars in retail sales in 2018 through more than 900 stores and e-commerce businesses. The toy retailer closed all of its stores last summer.
The company adds there is still a significant gap and huge consumer demand for the Toys R Us and Babies R Us brands. The new effort could take the form of online sales, pop up stores and some retail stores.
