New York, NY) -- A New York assemblyman is pushing a bill that would allow gamblers to make sports bets at stadiums and arenas across the state.
Assemblyman Gary Pretlow says his bill would allow bettors to place bets at places like Yankee Stadium and Madison Square Garden. Under current legislation sports betting would be allowed at the four upstate casinos licensed by New York State including the Resorts World Catskills Casino in Sullivan County.
Sports betting legislation is currently working its way through both houses in Albany. Eight states allow sports betting, New York is not one of them.
