Earth Day Trash Blitz In Poughkeepsie


(Poughkeepsie, NY)--In recognition of Earth Day today, the New York State Department of Transportation is participating in a statewide "Trash Blitz."

Workers are volunteering their time to collect and dispose of litter along roads, highways and other locations across the state. This morning State D.O.T. workers in Dutchess County are picking up trash along State Route 44/55 from the Mid-Hudson Bridge to Burnett Blvd in the Town of Poughkeepsie.During last year’s effort on Earth Day across the state workers collected 9,203 bags of garbage.
