(Washington, DC) -- New York's junior senator is rolling out her plan to legalize marijuana across the country as she continues her campaign for the presidential nomination.
Kirsten Gillibrand shared a post to her blog on Medium, saying that ending the federal prohibition of marijuana would be a top priority of her presidency. She claims the issue represents institutional racism within the criminal justice system, and that marijuana laws unfairly target communities of color. Gillibrand also wants to make sure that medical marijuana is available through private insurance and government programs.
