Closing Arguements In Upstate Sex Cult Case

(Brooklyn, NY) -- Closing arguments are underway in the federal trial of the man accused of running an Upstate New York sex-cult.

Fifty-eight-year-old Keith Raniere faces charges of sex trafficking and child pornography. Prosecutors allege that he coerced women into sexual relationships, often subjecting them to mental and physical pain, after marketing his organization NXIVM as a self-help group for women. Jurors have heard testimony for the past six-weeks concerning the Albany-based group, and now attorneys for both sides will begin wrapping up their respective cases.
