(Atlantic City, NJ) -- For the very first time, sports betting operations in New Jersey took in more money in a single month than those in Las Vegas.
Nevada's state gaming control says New Jersey accepted 319-million dollars in bets in May, while Nevada took in 317-million. NJ.com reports this comes a year after the U.S. Supreme Court handed New Jersey an historic victory in its years-long case to overturn a federal ban and legalize such betting at casinos and racetracks.
New York State Legislators have just approved sports betting in the Empire State and that is set to begin in the next several weeks including at the Resorts World Catskills Casino in Sullivan County.
