(Bronx, NY) -- New York Yankees announcer John Sterling is ending his 30-year-streak of calling every game on the radio.
Sterling, who turns 81 on Thursday, told a local New York radio station he won't be heading to Tampa to call the Yankees four-game set with the Rays later this week. Former Dutchess County resident Ryan Ruocco of the YES Network will replace Sterling. This will be the first time Sterling hasn't called a Yankees game since 1989.
