Two Dead When Plane Crashes Into A Home In Dutchess County

(Union Vale, NY)--Two people were killed and four injured when a plane crashed into a house in Union Vale in Dutchess County Saturday afternoon.

State Police have tentatively identified those killed as 61 year old Francisco Knipping Diaz of Woodmere who was piloting the Cessna Crusader plane and 61 year old Gerard Bocker who was an occupant of the home on South Smith Road where the plane crashed. The two passengers on the plane sustained non-life-threatening injuries.House residents 21 year old Hannah Bocker was critically injured and 30 year old Sarah Bocker sustained non-life threatening injuries.The plane had just refueled at Sky Acres Airport in LaGrangeville when it experienced engine problems and crashed.

(Union Vale, New York)--Two people are dead after a fiery plane crash in Dutchess County.

The small Cessna Crusader, carrying three people crashed into a home on South Smith Road in Union Vale, last evening. The plane had taken off from Republic Airport in Farmingdale and was about to refuel at Sky Acres Airport in LaGrangeville when reports of engine trouble came in. State Police say one person on the plane died and three people were also in the home at the time of the crash. One occupant was killed, one survived and one is still unaccounted for.

County Executive Marc Molinaro released this statement: “We pray for all those involved in the plane crash that occurred this afternoon in Union Vale.

Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response, Union Vale Fire Department, along with multiple other agencies remain on the scene and we are grateful to all of our local first responders here at the site and those providing support.  Many of these men and women expected to be in Red Hook celebrating the annual tradition of the Dutchess County Volunteer Firemen’s Association County Convention Parade – instead, they once again answer the call of duty. We pray for their safety as they respond to this critical event.”
