(Poughkeepsie, NY) -- It is a big weekend for leaf peepers in the Hudson Valley.
With the Columbus Day holiday many orchards and farm markets were filled with visitors and many highways were jammed with travelers viewing the changing colors. The state's fall foliage report says that the leaves in Dutchess and Ulster counties are mostly at midpoint with "50% transition and yellow, orange, and red leaves of average brilliance." Parts of the Catskills are at near peak or peak color display.
