Motorcyclist Dies In Two Vehicle Crash In Dutchess County

(Poughkeepsie, NY) -- A motorcyclist is dead after a two vehicle crash in Dutchess County. According to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, it happened at about 5pm Monday on East Noxon Rd at the intersection with South Cross Rd in LaGrange.

"Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by Mark Graff (age 54 of Putnam Valley) was traveling eastbound on East Noxon Rd when it attempted to make a left turn onto South Cross Road. While making the turn the motorcycle was struck by a 2004 Mercury Sable operated by Matthew Brubacher (age 32 of LaGrange). Mr. Brubacher was uninjured in the crash, and Mr. Graff was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead. No charges have been filed at this time."

The Sheriff's office says that the primary factor causing the fatal crash " is considered to be failure to yield the right of way on the part of the motorcyclist." The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the LaGrange Fire Department.
