California Man Arrested After Posting Mass Shooting Practice Videos Online

An anonymous tip may have prevented another mass shooting and saved countless lives. California authorities launched an investigation after they were tipped off about a series of graphic videos on YouTube allegedly showing Steven Homoki, 30, practicing for a massacre from inside a San Diego hotel room. The tipster told officials that Homoki had "gone off the deep end" and had a plan in place. He warned them that if confronted, “he will open fire on federal agents or police.”

In one of the videos, Homoki can be seen pointing an unloaded rifle out of the window and pulling the trigger.

"One down, more to go."

In another video, he discusses switching the magazines and suggests bringing multiple weapons.

"You drop one mag, you pick up another, right? Then you pick up another. Then you drop it, you drop the gun, pick up another gun," Homoki said

Homoki, using the alias Stephen Anderson, commented on the videos, trying to explain that everything was fake and that the videos were satire.

“Everything is fabricated for entertainment and none of these are intended for any audience. This is a private video. Shall not be published online for anyone to view and this is satire and not in any way shape or form to be taken seriously. Should children with toy guns deserve to get shot?”

San Diego's Joint Terrorism Task Force was able to identify Homoki and took him into custody following a raid at his Spring Valley home. They found 14 firearms, including two "assault-style" rifles. He is facing charges of possession of an assault weapon, possession of a high capacity magazine and child endangerment,

"Just three days ago Mr. Homoki was an unknown poster of disturbing videos and is now behind bars, his threats neutralized," San Diego FBI Special-Agent-In-Charge Scott Brunner said in a statement.
