(Washington, DC) -- A top House Republican lawyer is calling impeachment a rushed, abusive and unfair process. In the latest House impeachment hearing, Stephen Castor said President Trump's conduct does not meet the constitutional impeachment standard of "high crimes and misdemeanors." Castor argued that Democrats do not have the facts to support impeachment. He said there is no clear evidence that the President acted with malicious intent. Castor also accused Dems of being obsessed with impeaching the President.

Castor said Dems are orchestrating an effort to upend the nation's political system. He also challenged Democratic claims that Trump has obstructed congressional investigations. Castor said Dems want to nullify the results of the 2016 election and are engaged in hearsay, innuendo and faulty assumptions. He argued that there was no mob-like shakedown, as Democrats have alleged. Castor is the top Republican counsel in the impeachment investigation.
