(Fishkill, NY) -- The Hudson Valley Renegades team is the winner of the 2019 Short Season Freitas Award, recognizing the top overall operation at each level of the minor leagues by Baseball America.
This marks the second time the Renegades have won the prestigious award. The Hudson Valley Renegades have continually ranked among the most successful teams in the New York-Penn League. The Renegades were recognized for their many community events including Veteran’s Night where they raised over $5000.00 for local Vet-2-Vet organizations, and their third annual Disability, Dream and Do baseball camp for children with special needs, an event that is run in conjunction with Dutchess County’s “Think Differently” initiative.
“Receiving the Freitas Award is a tremendous honor for all of us from the full-time staff and ownership group on down,” Renegades team president Steve Gliner said. “We go into every season always looking to do things to better our organization and the experience for fans so that when they come back year after year, there’s always something new going on.”
