(Albany, NY) -- A new report shows the number of flu cases is surging statewide.
The Department of Health says there were over 18-hundred new cases of the virus reported last week. That's a 60-percent jump from the week before and brings the total number of confirmed cases statewide to nearly five-thousand for the season. Dutchess and Ulster counties though are reporting only a few cases here. Doctors say if you haven't gotten your flu shot yet, you should do it immediately.
