Winter Weather Advisory Posted For Mid-Hudson

(Albany, NY) -- The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Dutchess and Ulster counties and the rest of the Mid-Hudson. It goes into effect at 10 tonight and continues through 1AM Wednesday. They say mixed precipitation is expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch.

Meanwhile hudosnvalleyweather.com predicts that the Tuesday morning commute is going to be a real mess, with a period of moderate snow likely, possibly mixing with sleet at that time resulting in very difficult travel conditions. Already some schools have cancelled after school activities today because of the impending weather.
