(New York, NY) -- The final test is complete, and they're ready for the New Year's Eve ball drop in Midtown Manhattan. Outfitted with 192 Waterford Crystal triangles, and capable of displaying more than 16-million different colors, organizers sent the ball up and down its pole yesterday to ensure it's ready for tonight.
Folks from all over the world are filing into Times Square as they get ready to ring in the new year. By this evening, more than a million people are expected to pack in to watch a number of entertainers and then the ball drop to ring in 2020. Revelers are not allowed to bring backpacks, lawn chairs and coolers and are not allowed to leave the area for the bathroom. For many folks, New Year's Eve in Times Square is a bucket list item. Temperatures are expected to be around 40 degrees at midnight, warmer than normal.
