Vassar Brothers Medical Center Has New President

(Poughkeepsie, NY) -- Nuvance Health has chosen Joseph J. Mullany as Vassar Brothers Medical Center's new president. Yesterday was his first day on the job.

Mullany most recently was president and CEO at Bayfront Health Systems in St. Petersburg, Fla., where he transformed a collection of seven independent hospitals into an integrated health system. His bio says prior to that, he served as president and CEO at Detroit Medical Center, a 2,100-bed academic health system with eight hospitals, five surgery centers and approximately 14,000 employees.

“Joe is a strategic and visionary healthcare leader with more than 25 years of success leading complex organizations to excel in high-quality and safe healthcare with a high level of service,” said Kerry Eaton, chief operating officer of Vassar’s parent organization, Nuvance Health. “He has a strong track record of enhancing operational performance in a wide variety of areas.”
