Governor Cuomo Green Lights Re-Opening Schools For Fall With Conditions

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo Holds Daily News Conference Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

Governor Cuomo announced Monday that schools will be permitted to re-open for fall if certain criteria is met. In his press conference, Cuomo said that regions of the state in Phase 4 that keep their infection rate below 5% over a 7 day average will be on track to open. If the infection rate jumps above 9%, schools will remain closed. Each school district is required to submit their reopening plan by July 31.

A decision on each region will come during the first week of August. Currently, each region of the state with the exception of New York City is in Phase 4 of reopening.
