COVID-19 at Ulster jail almost eradicated

KINGSTON – As of Monday morning, only one inmate out of the 186 housed at the Ulster County Jail has the coronavirus and that individual is isolated in the medical ward.
One corrections officer remains out and is expected to return to work within the next couple of days, said Ulster County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Det. Lt. Abram Markiewicz.
“Barring further incident, this will hopefully mark the end of COVID in our jail staff and population,” he said
