HUDSON VALLEY’S FC MALAGA CITY NEW YORK CELEBRATES FIRST ANNIVERSARY; NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2021-2022 ACADEMIC YEAR

Groundbreaking Soccer Academy Sees Incredible Demand, Meets Growing Need for Alternative Schooling and High-Level Sports Training

Hudson Valley, NY (January 14, 2020)– On the heels of celebrating its first full academic year, FC Malaga City New York, the region’s first and only elite all-boys academy providing direct pathways for athletes who wish to pursue collegiate and professional athletic careers in soccer, announces open enrollment for its 2021-2022 school year.

Based in Dutchess County, New York, FC Malaga City New York Academy caters specifically to middle and high school-level soccer players with professional sport aspirations. In addition to training domestically against other elite level preparatory schools, students (who can board at the school, or attend by day) are immersed in a unique residency program with FC Malaga City in Almuñecar,Spain, affording the opportunity to travel abroad for three months and be exposed to professional collegiate opportunities while playing against some of the world’s top clubs.

With a special focus on soccer training under the direction of Union of European Football Association (UEFA) licensed coaches, the academy’s educational program leverages technology, remote educators and in-person supports to offer a rigorous curriculum that challenges students according to their ability and allows them to easily continue learning together, as a team, and at their own pace, both on-site in the Hudson Valley or while abroad.

“The past year has proven to be one of the more challenging years for student athletes in our country,” said FC Malaga City New York Club & Academy Director Colin McComb. “Yet here at FC Malaga, we’ve been able to provide consistent, COVID-19-conscious and hands-on learning in a small, in-school setting. Furthermore, we have given our athletes the type of training and experiences that have traditionally only been available to soccer players abroad. We’re proud of the blend of educational and athletic offerings we are giving kids who deserve a path to professional sports, and we’re doing it right here in the Hudson Valley.”

As a New York State accredited school with a NCAA approved curriculum, FC Malaga City New York is open to both local and out-of-area students with room and board accommodations on-site. Open enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year is now open for applications and prospective students and their families are encouraged to schedule a visit to the campus on weekdays between 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM to learn more.
