Congrats pour in as President Biden and Vice President Harris are sworn in

MID-HUDSON – Congratulations are pouring in from across the region as Joe Biden is sworn in as the 46th President of the United States and Kamala Harris takes the oath of office as the first woman and person of color to become the Vice President.
“Today, as President Biden and Vice President Harris assume office, America embarks on a new era defined by our collective resolve to build a country that works for all of us,” said Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney.

“Americans – from every corner of this country – are ready for that change, and we stand ready to deliver For The People. Together — we will tackle the noble ideals of freedom and justice. Together — we will get this country back to work, and back on track.”
Congressman Antonio Delgado called the inauguration “the new day” brought on by the inauguration. “Residents of New York’s 19th district are counting on the Biden Administration to deliver federal COVID19 relief to local government, create good-paying jobs, provide affordable health care, rebuild our crumbling infrastructure, and protect our planet.”
U.S. Senator Kirsten Gilibrand said the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris was “a demonstration of the American people’s resolve and optimism. While our nation continues to face an unprecedented public health and economic crisis, the inauguration was a moment of hope, and the start of a journey to not only recover from the pandemic, but to rebuild and strengthen our nation.”
Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro said the inauguration and transfer of power “is a celebration of what makes America so extraordinary. We cherish this moment.”
Molinaro noted, “There is much to be done as we respond to this pandemic, rebuild our economy, restore our communities and seek to heal our country.”
Kingston Mayor Steven Noble said the new administration takes office “during a time of great divide, and one of unprecedented loss. My hope is that, with bold and compassionate leadership, they will be able to move the country forward and out of these dark times.”
