Spring Parent and Family Engagement Festival set for Saturday

Poughkeepsie City School District and many of its community partners are hosting a free, outdoor event at the Poughkeepsie High School Football Stadium Complex, 70 Forbus St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 1.

The goal of the event is to make families aware of all the programs, services and supports available through the district and its partners to help students. It is also a way to celebrate parents and families for all they do to help their children succeed. So, there will be safe, fun activities, free food, refreshments and giveaways.

Short introductions to more than 20 programs will be interspersed with live music and performances. And, there will be 40 partners present at tables throughout the stadium to share information on the programs they offer.

The best opportunities for photos will be from 12-2 p.m. During this time, there will be a performance by Poughkeepsie High School cheerleaders, a weapons demo from the PHS Air Force JROTC, a Zumba group activity, demo by Kwon’s Martial Arts, a hip hop dance performance by Poughkeepsie Performing Arts Academy and more.

Families who want more information or would like to attend are asked to RSVP to:
