Five positive cases of COVID-19 in Newburgh schools

NEWBURGH – Five individuals have tested positive for the coronavirus at four schools in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District.
On September 10, the district learned of two positive cases at Newburgh Free Academy Main Campus and one positive case at the NFA North Campus.
At the main campus, one individual was not present in the school building while the second one was last present on September 9.
At the North Campus, the one individual was not present in the school building.
On September 13, one person tested positive at South Middle School and another individual tested positive at Temple Hill Academy.
At South Middle School, the individual was last present in the school on September 10.
At Temple Hill, the individual was last present on September 9.
School officials did not say if the infected persons were students, teachers or staff
They said children and/or staff who were in direct or proximate contact with the positive case will be contacted by district staff and/or the Orange County Health Department and will be instructed to quarantine.
Officials said at this time, the schools will remain open.
