Now in the 31st year of hosting this annual event, the Lyceum has once again decided to offer two films for attendees to choose from.

“The Polar Express”, rated G, starring Tom Hanks has become a Christmas classic based on the book by Chris Van Allsburg.

“Elf”, rated PG, starring Will Ferrell, Bob Newhart and James Caan. This is the story of Buddy, who has been raised in the North Pole as a full sized Elf.

Both films will be offered at 10:30 am on Saturday 12/17 and upon entry everyone may choose which film they prefer to see.

Admission is free, but tickets must be obtained in advance from any of the following local merchants: Rhinebeck Bank, Red hook branch, Minuteman Press, Subway, Red Hook T’s,  Village Pizza III , Savona’s Restaurant, Red Hook,  Historic Village Diner, Ben & Gracies, Charlie O’s Restaurant and The Red Hook Diner.

Santa will be on hand at the Lyceum when the doors open at 9:30 AM to talk to the children.

Everyone who attends the movie is asked to please bring a non-perishable food item for collection by the Dutchess County Community Action Agency office in Red Hook for distribution to needy families in the area.
