Actress Aubrey Plaza suffered a torn ACL while playing 'knockout' during the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game weekend, ESPN play-by-play man revealed during the game's broadcast.

Plaza, 40, was reported to be playing at the Phoenix Mercury's practice facility when injury took place and spotted with crutches and a large ice wrap on her right knee while sitting court side at the Footprint Center with Seattle Storm star Sue Bird and her fiancée, former USWNT winger Megan Rapinoe. The actress was previously seen attending the 3-point contest and Skills Challenge uninjured one day prior.

Plaza was featured on Bird and Rapinoe's podcast, A Touch More, last week and said she had previously suffered an ACL tear while playing in a women's recreation league in Los Angeles prior to her latest injury. The Parks and Rec star also claimed that she became a "villain" and disguised herself in order to play on the same team as her sister, Natalie, in the recreational league.

“I was like, ‘No one will know it’s me. It’s great,'” Plaza told the couple. “And then, in the middle of the game, I went up for a shot and tore my ACL on the court in a wig. That’s kind of like the worst-case scenario because I was trying to go undercover, and I just snapped my knee in half, basically.”

Team WNBA upset the USA Basketball Women's Team, 117-109, with Arike Ogunbowale leading all scorers with 34 and winning All-Star Game MVP, a feat she had previously accomplished while leading Team WNBA to an upset win over the Olympic team during the 2021 WNBA All-Star Game.
