The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with a recent murder at Pershing Avenue Park. Shrone Wright, 51, was taken into custody on Wednesday, November 13, for the murder that occurred on November 6. The victim, a 50-year-old man who has not been named, was found stabbed in the neck at the park.
Wright, also known as "Onsite," was apprehended while walking on Harrison Street around 11:00 p.m. by city police detectives, patrol units, the Neighborhood Recovery Unit, and the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit, according to MidHudsonNews.com.
Following his arrest, Wright was charged with murder and arraigned the next day. He is currently being held in Dutchess County Jail.
