The Hudson Valley region is bracing for wet weather this Thanksgiving holiday. The inclement weather is expected to arrive after Wednesday's rush hour, with Triple-A predicting nearly 80 million people will be traveling by road and air for the holiday. Thanksgiving Day itself is forecasted to be mostly chilly with steady rain and a possible dusting of snow along parts of I-84.

The eastern third of the country could be impacted by active weather, from possible thunderstorms in the Southeast to a wintry mix and slush in the Great Lakes, to a mix of rain and snow in the Northeast and New England. As of now, it appears that much of the I-95 corridor will experience rain, but the interior Northeast and northern New England could see a wintry mix and/or snow for Thanksgiving.

The weather is expected to clear up by the weekend, making the return journey for travelers smoother. However, a blast of cold air is predicted to sweep through the central and eastern states as November ends and December begins. Residents and travelers are advised to check weather updates regularly and plan their journeys accordingly.

According to The Weather Channel, the forecast for the rest of the country is relatively quiet, with much of the central and western U.S. expected to have a calm Thanksgiving Day.
