The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, led by Sheriff Kirk Imperati, is currently hosting its annual holiday toy drive. The initiative aims to ensure that local children wake up to presents under the tree on Christmas morning. Residents are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys, which can be dropped off at the main lobby of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center, located at 108 Parker Ave in Poughkeepsie. Donations will be accepted until December 18th.

The toy drive is part of a broader commitment by the Sheriff's Office to support community-based organizations and initiatives. According to the Sheriff's website, funds raised by the campaign committee are often designated to support a variety of programs, including homeless shelters, veterans, youth sports, seniors, toy drives, turkey distributions, food drives, domestic violence prevention, and aid to those less fortunate as well as children in need.

The toy drive follows the successful completion of the Town of Fishkill Police Department's Toys for Tots donation campaign, which collected at least three boxes of toys, cash donations, and 14 bicycles.
