The Town of Wappinger has introduced designated parking spots for seniors at certain facilities. The initiative, led by Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini in collaboration with Parks and Recreation, aims to make it easier for seniors to attend enrichment programs. The new Senior Parking signs have been installed outside of Town Hall.

Cavaccini believes that seniors should not have to struggle to find a parking spot when they come to participate in enrichment programs. These programs include activities like Zumba, bingo, and chair volleyball, which are designed to promote physical health and social interaction among seniors.

The introduction of designated senior parking is part of the town's ongoing efforts to make its facilities more accessible and user-friendly for all residents. The town plans to monitor the use of these new parking spots and make adjustments as necessary to ensure they are meeting the needs of the senior community.
