Dutchess County Seeks Budget Analyst

Dutchess County is actively seeking a budget analyst to assist in developing the county's operating budget. The role involves evaluating program costs to aid officials in making informed financial decisions. The budget analyst will act as a liaison between the Budget Office and department administrators.

This exempt position in the Dutchess County Budget Office requires the analyst to assist the Budget Director in preparing, implementing, and administering the county's budget. The analyst will conduct research and analysis to evaluate departmental functions, providing essential information for policy formulation. The position allows for considerable independent judgment and may involve supervising subordinate employees.

Applicants should have either a master's degree in business, public administration, political science, economics, accounting, or a related field with two years of experience in budgetary and financial control or administrative management activities. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in the same fields with four years of relevant experience is acceptable. A civil service examination is not required for this position.
