Stephen Bai, a 39-year-old resident of Poughkeepsie, New York, was arrested on Wednesday (December 4) for allegedly dealing fentanyl from his apartment on Carroll Street. The arrest followed an investigation by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, which received reports of drug activity in the area. Undercover agents were able to make several purchases of fentanyl from Bai, leading to a search warrant being issued by the City of Poughkeepsie Court.

During the early morning raid, authorities found fentanyl, cocaine, and drug sale packaging materials, including scales, in Bai's apartment. Bai was charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony. He was arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and released, as required by New York State Law. Additional charges against Bai are pending, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.

An alleged associate, Angela Martinez, 38, was also arrested during the raid. Martinez had an outstanding warrant for felony drug possession and was found with felony-weight crack cocaine. She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony. Martinez was arraigned and released to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police for processing on her outstanding warrant.

The Dutchess County Drug Task Force continues to investigate and urges anyone with information about drug activity to contact them at 845-463-6040 or via email at DrugTaskForceTips@gmail.com. As with any criminal case, the charges are accusations, and those named are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
