An investigation is underway following the discovery of a woman's body at the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park. The body was found on Friday (December 6) by a hiker near the east shore of the Hudson River, south of Bard Rock. Authorities are treating the death as suspicious.

The deceased is described as an elderly woman, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 112 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair. No visible scars or tattoos were found on her body. The New York State Police and Hyde Park Police Department are leading the investigation. They have asked anyone with information about a missing elderly woman in the area to contact Investigator Filippini at 845-677-7300, referencing case number NY2400970235.

In a related case, officials in Greene County are investigating skeletal remains found in a wooded area in the City of Hudson. The remains were discovered in a separate incident, and authorities are working to determine if there is any connection between the two cases.

As the investigation continues, police are urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in identifying the woman or understanding the circumstances surrounding her death.
