A Hudson man, Michael Davey, 39, is set to appear in court today (December 24) after being charged with multiple counts of rape and predatory sexual assault against a child. The charges involve six counts of first-degree rape of a child under 11 years old. The arrest followed a report from Child Protective Services, which alerted authorities to the alleged abuse of a young girl.
Davey was arrested on December 19 by the Hudson Police Department after they received information from the Columbia County Department of Social Services' Child Protective Services Unit. The report indicated recent allegations of sexual abuse. The Hudson Police Department, in collaboration with Child Protective Services, the Child Advocacy Center, and the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, conducted the investigation leading to Davey's arrest.
Davey was arraigned in Hudson City Court and is currently held in the Columbia County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to return to court today at 9 AM. The Hudson Police Department expressed gratitude to the agencies involved in the investigation for their collective efforts.
