An investigation is ongoing after a 66-year-old man was found fatally injured on Saturday (December 28) in the Town of Ulster. Police responded to a 911 call at around 7:08 a.m. and discovered the man lying in the roadway on East Chester Street Bypass near the Bank of Greene County. He was wearing a tan Carhartt jacket, blue jeans, dark-colored sneakers, and carrying a blue backpack. The man, who was approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, was treated on the scene by first responders from the Ulster Hose Fire Company and then transported by Empress Ambulance to Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston, where he died from his injuries.
Authorities are investigating the incident as a possible hit-and-run. The Town of Ulster Police Department, with assistance from state police, is leading the investigation. They are urging anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have seen anything unusual to contact the Ulster Police Department Detective Division at (845) 382-1111.
The identity of the deceased has not been released, and the investigation remains active.
