The Dutchess County Clerk's Office has introduced a new program called Dutchess Deed Watch. This service is designed to help residents protect themselves from property theft through fraudulent recordings. Residents can register for alerts on up to four names. Once registered, they will receive email notifications if a deed or mortgage is recorded against a property they own.

The program aims to provide peace of mind to property owners concerned about unauthorized changes to their property records. If a notification is received, the Clerk's Office advises individuals to seek legal advice before taking any further action.

Dutchess Deed Watch is part of the county's efforts to enhance security and transparency in property transactions. The service is now available to all residents of Dutchess County. For more information, residents can visit the Dutchess County Clerk's Office website.
