The City of Poughkeepsie is offering over $300,000 in grants to community organizations that run youth programs. Mayor Yvonne Flowers announced the initiative through the Youth Activities and Opportunities Grant Program, which provides a maximum of $15,000 per awardee. The funds aim to support various activities, including sports, performing arts, summer camps, tech programs, and workforce development.

Mayor Flowers expressed excitement about the program, stating, "We are excited to roll out this program again this year and look forward to the many worthy applications from organizations working hard to offer our children healthy opportunities." The city encourages applications from organizations that provide valuable experiences for children and their families.

An information meeting about the grant process will take place next Wednesday (January 22) at 11 a.m. at City Hall. During the meeting, the city will answer questions and provide details on reporting and training compliances related to the program. Applications will be accepted through February 10. Interested organizations can find the application form and guidelines on the city's Youth Services Division webpage.
