The city of Poughkeepsie, New York, has announced the opening of applications for its 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). This federally funded grant, provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), aims to enhance the quality of life for residents by supporting municipal infrastructure and public amenities. Additionally, the grant offers financial assistance to Public Service Agencies to address issues such as food insecurity, homelessness, and mental health services.

Mayor Yvonne Flowers encourages agencies and organizations to review the application criteria to determine eligibility. "These monies provide essential services to our community," Mayor Flowers stated, urging potential applicants to reach out with any questions.

Applicants must submit their applications by February 21, 2025, in PDF format via email to Jaclyn Greenwald at jgreenwald@cityofpoughkeepsie.com. The program year for the CDBG will begin on August 1, 2025, and end on July 31, 2026. Interested parties should review the Policies and Procedures on the city’s website and contact the Division of Social Development for further guidance.
