The Town of Pawling has announced a reduction in speed limits on its town-operated roads to 30 miles per hour. This change does not apply to county or state roads, such as Routes 22 and 55. Highway Superintendent Bob Brill clarified that the new speed limit will affect dozens of roads managed by the town. The decision aims to enhance safety for both drivers and pedestrians by reducing vehicle speeds in residential and high-traffic areas.

Residents and visitors are advised to be aware of the new speed limits and adjust their driving habits accordingly. The town's initiative reflects a growing trend in municipalities prioritizing road safety through speed regulation.
