A 28-year-old man from Hyde Park, Tyler Leclerc, has been charged with sexually abusing minors. According to the New York State Police, Leclerc faces one count of a criminal sexual act in the third degree, a Class E Felony, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A Misdemeanor. The charges stem from allegations that Leclerc abused multiple children over several years.

Leclerc, who worked as a martial arts instructor at Leclerc's Martial Arts, was arrested on Monday (February 5). The martial arts school has six locations in Dutchess and Ulster counties. Following his arrest, Leclerc's name was removed from the business's website, although he can still be seen in photos with other instructors.

The investigation began late last month when the New York State Police received a report of child sexual abuse. Evidence gathered during the investigation led to Leclerc's arrest. He was arraigned in the Town of East Fishkill Court and is currently held in Dutchess County Jail on a $200,000 cash bail, $400,000 bond, or a $2,000,000 partially secured bond.

The New York State Police are continuing their investigation and are encouraging any additional victims or individuals with information to come forward. They can contact the New York State Police at (845) 677-7300, referencing SP Poughkeepsie BCI case # 2500085617.
