Middletown residents are being reminded to sign up for street parking alerts as the city experiences a surge in parking tickets during the winter months. Each violation carries a $100 fine. City leaders have sent out mailings urging residents to receive these alerts through text message or email.
The City of Middletown has repealed seasonal winter parking restrictions, allowing overnight parking on city streets year-round. However, during winter storms, a Snow Alert will be issued, prohibiting street parking until the alert is lifted. Vehicles not removed during a Snow Alert will be towed at the owner's expense, and fines will begin at $100.
To keep residents informed about Snow Alerts and weather-related parking updates, the city has set up multiple channels. These include a Weather Alert Hotline at 845-346-1414, updates on the city's website and social media pages, notifications on local radio stations such as NewsRadio 1450 1370 98.5 WKIP , and an Emergency Alert System for direct phone or email notifications.
For more information, residents can visit the city's official website or contact the Middletown Department of Public Works at 845-346-4124.
