A Hudson man, Evan Kravitz, was sentenced to three to six years in prison for his involvement in a fatal crash in Greene County. On Tuesday (February 25), the Greene County Court delivered the sentence for Kravitz, who was charged with vehicular manslaughter after a tragic accident in October.

According to The Daily Gazette, Kravitz lost control of his vehicle on County Route 54 in New Baltimore, causing it to veer off the road and strike multiple trees. The crash resulted in the death of his passenger, 29-year-old Vance Cohen, who was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by first responders.

As reported by News10, Kravitz was initially charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter and driving while ability impaired by drugs. He pleaded guilty to the charges earlier this month. Under New York State Law, second-degree vehicular manslaughter carries a sentence of one to seven years in prison.

Kravitz's sentencing marks the conclusion of a case that has drawn significant attention in the Hudson community. He will serve his time with the possibility of parole if he does not serve the full six years.
