Five-Time Felon Arrested After Poughkeepsie Police Chase

A five-time convicted felon, Andre Hendrix, 55, was arrested in Poughkeepsie following a police chase on Wednesday night (February 26). Hendrix, who was wanted on a warrant related to drug sales, attempted to evade officers on an electric bike. The chase began when detectives spotted him on Marshall Street around 7:30 p.m. Hendrix, under state parole supervision, was the subject of a search warrant connected to an ongoing narcotics investigation in the Pershing Avenue area.

According to the Daily Voice, Hendrix initially tried to escape on the electric bike and then on foot, but was quickly apprehended. Upon his arrest, police discovered a quantity of narcotics in his possession. He faces two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third and fourth degrees.

Hendrix is currently being held pending arraignment. The Poughkeepsie police continue to investigate the case as part of their efforts to combat drug-related activities in the area.
