A 55-year-old man from Poughkeepsie, Orlando Peterson III, was arrested on Thursday (February 27) after being caught in a drug operation involving undercover agents. The Dutchess County District Attorney's Office Drug Task Force conducted a search at Peterson's residence on Garden Street, where they discovered methamphetamine and cocaine packaged for sale. According to the Task Force, undercover agents had been purchasing drugs from Peterson before executing the search warrant with assistance from the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Emergency Service Unit.
Peterson faces charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony. He was arraigned in City of Poughkeepsie Court and is currently held in Dutchess County Jail without bail. The investigation remains active, with additional charges pending.
