Joseph A. Adams, a 42-year-old alleged drug dealer, was arrested in Dutchess County on Wednesday (March 12). The arrest followed a detailed investigation by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force, which had been monitoring Adams for selling fentanyl and cocaine to undercover agents at various locations throughout the county.

According to Dutchess County officials, Adams was taken into custody at the Best Western Inn at the Falls in the Town of LaGrange. During the arrest, authorities discovered fentanyl packaged for sale and a large amount of cash in his possession. Additionally, Adams was found with a loaded semi-automatic handgun.

Adams faces multiple charges, including criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C violent felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a class B felony. He was arraigned in the Town of LaGrange Court and is being held in the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

The Drug Task Force's efforts are part of a broader initiative to combat drug trafficking in the area. They encourage the public to report any suspicious drug activity to their confidential tip line.
