Charges are pending for four suspects following a high-speed police chase that started in Dutchess County and ended in Westchester County. The incident began early Tuesday (March 18) when New York State Police responded to a commercial burglary in progress in the Town of Pleasant Valley. The suspects were found in a stolen black Porsche in East Fishkill, but they fled south on the Taconic State Parkway.
Troopers initially terminated the pursuit due to safety concerns and loss of visual contact. However, at 2:16 a.m., officers from SP Hawthorne spotted the vehicle again and successfully deployed a stinger device to disable it. Despite this, the suspects continued driving until they reached the Exit 6 off-ramp, where they abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area.
A coordinated search involving state police, K9 units, and drones led to the capture of all four suspects. The New York State Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending.
The chase caused local disruptions, including a two-hour delay for the Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District, as police activity near Todd School prompted a precautionary sweep of the area, according to Patch.com.
