Poughkeepsie Police Investigate Tuesday Evening Stabbing

A stabbing incident on Tuesday evening (March 25) in Poughkeepsie, is currently under investigation by local police. The incident occurred just before 5:40 p.m. on the 600 block of Main Street, near the Family Dollar store. A 15-year-old male was found with a serious stab wound to his leg. First responders, including police, fire, and EMS personnel, applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding before transporting the teen to a local hospital for further treatment.

The City of Poughkeepsie Police are actively interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence from the scene, which includes areas around the Family Dollar and a neighboring Rent-A-Center. According to Mid Hudson News, police believe that several suspects fled the scene before their arrival.
