Marc Molinaro, a former U.S. Representative from New York's Hudson Valley, completed his testimony before the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs on Thursday (March 27) as part of his nomination process to become the next leader of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). During the hearing, Molinaro emphasized the importance of embracing technology and modernizing transit systems to improve efficiency and service.

Molinaro, a Republican, was one of several nominees appearing before the committee, including candidates for positions within the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of the Treasury. He spent over two hours answering questions from the committee, which focused on his qualifications and vision for the FTA.

The hearing took place in the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C. While Molinaro's testimony marks a significant step in the confirmation process, there is no word yet on when the Senate will hold a confirmation vote. According to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, the hearing was conducted in an open session and was webcast live.

Molinaro's nomination comes as the FTA faces increasing pressure to adapt to new technologies and improve public transit infrastructure across the United States. His focus on technology and modernization aligns with broader efforts to enhance the nation's transit systems.
